No it’s not a trick question, why do
you leave the comfort of your home daily working with people you dislike and
for causes you don’t believe in? Most of us have never deeply considered that
question. We assume we MUST work, for without work we may be unable to afford
our current lifestyle- the house, cars, vacations, loans, etc.
However, this is simply not true! There
was a time when you existed without all the THINGS you now have and you were
still human and alive! Indeed, for some, you were actually a better person
then!
What’s my point? Your job is a choice!
Thankfully slavery has been abolished and no one is permitted to employ you
without your consent. You chose to work in that office, with those people, for
those hours and for that salary. Irrespective of the many excuses you may have
previously told yourself aka- there are no jobs anywhere, ‘they’ won’t promote
me, I need a masters to have chance, ‘they’ are unfair to me...
The facts remain that, there a people
with fewer opportunities than you have had who are doing far better than you
LEGITIMATELY! So you can do, be and have better! If that’s not happening it’s your
fault, take responsibility. Stop blaming everyone else but yourself! Do
something constructive about it or be quiet!
Studies show that persons with strong
affinity (love, concern) for the persons they work with and for the causes they
work are happier, achieve more and live longer! Money is too small a reason to
work! Search your heart deeply today and if there is no congruence between your
organizations’s values, the persons you work with and you, start making CONCRETE
plans to leave. You have a choice you know?
